About Essential Bookkeeping Services
President & CEO
A certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor (Desktop, Online, & Enterprise) with over two (2) decades of Accounting experience, Dawn specializes in corporate and small-business bookkeeping and performs the duties of CFO for many clients.
Dawn founded EBS in 2008 and has recruited top talent from Jacksonville and the surrounding counties to service EBS clients. Dawn understands that small business owners do not have time to focus on their corporate accounting, and EBS arose out of that need.
- Many small business owners do not need a full-time bookkeeper, and this is where our services become essential.
- Many small business owners try to accomplish bookkeeping tasks in their spare time or procrastinate until it’s tax time (and then pay a large bill to their CPA).
- With Essential Bookkeeping Solutions (EBS), small business owners can focus on their business and not on their bookkeeping.
Dawn has been married for 25 years to her husband Jason, and they both have 2 adult children and 8 fur babies. Dawn is a native of Clay County and is proud to represent her local clients.
Jamie joined Essential Bookkeeping Solutions (EBS) in May 2013. Prior to joining our team, she worked for St. Vincent’s hospital in Jacksonville as an administrative assistant, where her interest in business accounting began. Jamie is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. She plans on continuing her education for her accounting degree. Jamie specializes in full charge bookkeeping, payroll services and accounts payable. She spends her free time raising her 3-year-old daughter and enjoying the quiet country life.
Certified Management Accountant and Office Manager
Before joining Essential Bookkeeping Solutions (EBS) in April, 2017, Cynthia gained experience in business continuity planning, technical writing, and cost accounting. She supplemented her Accounting degree with the Certified Management Accounting (CMA) credential.
Cynthia passed all of the four Certified Public Accounting (CPA) examinations with modest scores, although she achieved the distinction of being oldest successful CPA candidate in her cohort by 96.6 percent! Her employment proves EBS’ commitment to diversity in the workplace.
Cynthia is an avid animal welfare advocate and with the support of Kevin, husband, is an active volunteer with Mastiff Rescue of Florida (MRF). She applied to EBS because the advertisement specified: “Must like dogs.”

She has a four-year business school education of Accounting/Secretary and many years of experience in bookkeeping in various industries such as medical, golf courses, restaurants, and construction. She spent a few years in France, where she learned the French language.
In her free time, Marianne likes motorcycle riding and traveling. She also likes to work on home improvement projects and is a dog lover like all the other members of EBS.
In 1991, Jen began working at a law firm in Jacksonville as a receptionist and was soon promoted to legal secretary. After ten years with the same firm, she decided to stay home to raise a family. Jen’s administrative skills continued to be useful at home as she home-educated her children and founded two homeschooling co-ops serving the Clay County area. Wife to Matt, mother of three children, and indulgent owner of a malti-poo named Harry, Jen has very little free time. If she DID find herself with extra time, however, she would spend it sewing clothes, quilting, and binging on BBC movies.
